The Child Advocacy Center of Carroll County is an inspiring example of a successful public/private partnership. Founded in 2004, the Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity which embraces a coordinated, comprehensive and systematic approach to deal with issues associated with child abuse.

The Center represents both a place and a process designed to provide child victims and their non-offending family members with resources and advocacy efforts.

The "place" is supported by local contributors and community members, the New Hampshire Office of the Attorney General, the County of Carroll and the NH Charitable Foundation.

The "process" utilizes a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team approach, known as the Carroll County Child Protection Team to support the investigation and prosecution of crimes against Carroll County's children.

New Hampshire’s Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) support child victims of physical and sexual abuse, as well as children who witness violent crimes. The centers support these children in the early stages of criminal investigations by offering forensic interview services and by helping connect them to the important community resources.

To bring awareness to the cause and help increase community support of CACs, Tuftonboro Polce Chief Andy Shagoury has authorized his Department members who have pledged to support the Child Advocacy Center of Carroll County to grow beards, mustaches or goatees during the month of October. The officers are proud to support the great work of the CAC and want to thank you for supporting them in their efforts!
